The SAY Board
Every nonprofit has a Board of Directors (BoD). What is a Board of Directors, you may ask? It is a group of volunteers who oversee and guide the activities of the organization. The voluntary nature of the board ensures that its actions are conducted with integrity.
On the right, we have Atujain Tharuma, Sri Lankan-Tamil, who has a double major in Human Biology and Psychology from the University of Toronto. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and works as a behavioural therapist for children who have ASD and/or neurological disabilities.
On the left, we have Shalini Prasad, Indo-Guyanese, a graduate in Psychology from Toronto Metropolitan University and context expert in parentification, and other brown-girl related themes.
In the middle, we have Ria Arora, Hindu-Punjabi, who holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s in Social Work and is currently a PhD student in Social Work. She is also a Registered Social Worker.
We are a team of interdisciplinary professionals specializing in mental health, with expertise in areas such as eating disorders, parentification, gender roles, and expectations. We are dedicated to contributing to this population with our diverse skills and knowledge.
