The Aria Mural

It was really nice being a part of something bigger than yourself and coming together with other artists to create this mural.
— Aria Artist

The South Asian Yard, with the help of 6 local artists, presents Aria, a community-driven mural. This creative venture provided South Asian youth the opportunity to express their bicultural identities through art, bringing eternal impact to the community of Agincourt, Scarborough. In doing so, Aria celebrates and increases the visibility of the South Asian bicultural identity.

About Aria

Aria solidifies the significance of the intersectionality of the South Asian bicultural identity, foregrounding a new sense of visibility and belonging like never before. Artists from the Agincourt and surrounding Scarborough community painted individual patched representing their unique experiences as young adults navigating their South Asian and Canadian identities.

Aria is a love letter to the second-generation South Asian Canadian community, folx who identify within the South Asian bicultural identity, and the Brown Girl Trauma Community.
